Chandranath Mishra ‘Amar’
Chandranath Mishra ‘Amar’ was born 2nd March, 1925 at Khojpur, Madhubani. He received the traditional education and was awarded the degree of ‘Vyakaranacharya’. He taught Maithili at the M.L.Academy, Laheriasarai, and received the Sahitya Akademi award for his critical work published in 1982, ‘Maithili Patrakaritak Itihas’ in 1983. His published books are numerous, and they include the following novels - ‘Virakanya’ (1950), ‘Bidagari’ (1963), and ‘Samadhan’; and poetry collections like ‘Gudgudi’, ‘Yuga-chakra’, ‘Ritupriya’, and UnTa pal’ (1975). He has also edited a number of important anthologies, including ‘Kavivar Jeevan Jha Rachanavali’.
